Online meeting 1
February 28th 2023 4PM
- Info on how to do the challenge plus expert session on sustainability, building, and materials.
Roskilde Festival and The Circular Lab is aiming towards becoming a circular festival. Building a temporary city for 130.000 people over ten days sets a carbon footprint, but by minimizing waste, controlling the input streams, and designing circular solutions and circular business models where guests rent instead of owning, we can minimize the footprint and create a sustainable festival.
Roskilde Festival and The Circular Lab is looking for green solutions, and by participating in this challenge, your solutions will be exposed to the people behind the festival, who will consider the options for further developing your concepts together with you. If your solution has the right potential; we will support you in further developing your concept and test it at an even greater scale at Roskilde Festival 24.
The Circular Lab is Denmarks largest testplatform for new sustainable ideas. The purpose of the lab is to give young, green entrepreneurs an opportunity to test their solutions, products and business models so that they can gain knowledge about how their solutions perform.
The Circular Lab uses Roskilde Festival and other smaller festivals and events as testing platforms which makes testing very easy since the festivals are easily accessible and forgiving environments.
Are you INNOVATIVE, can you PRESENT and BUILD?
And would you like to contribute to a more sustainable world? Then this is a case competition designed for you!
Come up with a proposal for furniture and functional designs so the guests at Roskilde Festival can “chill” in a more sustainable way.
The challenge this year is to design elements for a lounge area for the guests of Roskilde Festival, which they can use in between concerts.
It can be furniture (sitting or lying) or elements that either create a good frame for connecting people or creates privacy and a peaceful moment – a calm break from the crowds. It can also be a solution that provide a cover for the sun, wind, rain, or maybe even sound. It can support intimacy, fun moments or just plain “hygge”.
You can design one item or several different items - the possibilities are many! - and the only demands are that the solution is sustainable and that the solution can be build and used at Roskilde Festival 2023.
